Maria Mojo Mondays: Your Inner Critic is Full of Sh*t!
Stop letting that inner voice run the show - take back that mic!
đź’› Hey, Mindset Maverick!
Ever notice that little voice in your head that loves to pick apart everything you do? That inner critic that whispers, “You’re not enough,” or “Who do you think you are?” or “Why did I say that - she/he is going to think I am _________”. You fill in the blank - cause you know what I am talking about.
Yeah… all that self talk that critiques everything you say and do - and you do it all by default.
So, here’s the truth: Your inner critic is full of sh*t. 💥
It’s loud. It’s persistent. It shows up when you’re trying to grow, create, or just be yourself. And if you let it, it can steal your joy, slow you down, and make life way harder than it needs to be.
But here’s the kicker — YOU get to shut it down.
đź’Ą Mojo Truth:
Your inner critic doesn’t have the power you think it does. It’s mostly fear, old stories, and comparison dressed up as judgment. And honey, you’re not buying it anymore.
✨ Coaching Tip #1: Name it & Notice it
The next time that voice pipes up, call it out: “Ah, there you are, Mr./Ms. Inner Critic.”
Or my favorite … “ok, gremlin, I see you, I hear you, thank you for that perspective - but that is not what I am choosing!”
Labeling it creates distance and reminds you it’s not YOU — it’s just a thought pattern.
đź’ˇ Coaching Tip #2: Talk back with sass & truth
Replace the critic’s words with bold affirmations:
Instead of “I can’t do this,” say, “Watch me crush this.”
Instead of “I’m not enough,” say, “I am more than enough — and I’m just getting started.”
Make it playful, fierce, and unapologetic.
⚡ Coaching Tip #3: Interrupt the loop
Move your body, take a breath, or write your thoughts down.
Physical action signals to your brain: “I’m in control here, not the critic.”
Small, repeated interventions retrain your brain to stop feeding the BS.
đź’¬ Real Talk:
I have to catch myself in the act of stinkin’ thinkin’ too sometimes.
Hey, don’t judge - I am human.
But here’s the difference … I am hyper aware of my self talk and I make a conscious choice to pivot to a more empowering story pretty quickly.
That awareness is the first step to changing the trajectory of what comes next in your life. Because once you recognize that your inner critic just spoke up and you tell it to go take a hike <lol>, you are on your way to feeling better and more empowered than ever.
đź’ˇ Your Challenge:
Today, notice one inner critic thought. Catch it. Call it out. Talk back. Take a small action that proves it wrong. Repeat.
Even one tiny victory today weakens the critic and strengthens your bold, unapologetic self.
⚡ Maria Mojo Boost:
Your inner critic doesn’t define you. Your actions, your energy, and your choices do. And you, my friend, are built to shine unapologetically.
Wishing you a fearless, bold, and unapologetic week
(where you tell your inner critic to take a hike!)
