The Real Skill Isn’t Shutting It Off. It’s Steering It.
Dear Mindset Maverick,
Someone said to me yesterday,
“I’m so overwhelmed with everything going on in my life. I don’t even want to THINK about it.”
I smiled. Not because it wasn’t real.
But because I know something they may not fully see yet.
You are a thinking machine.
You cannot not think.
Even trying not to think
is thinking.
The goal is not to shut your brain down.
The goal is to direct it.
And that right there
is your power.
💥 Mojo Truth
When people say they do not want to think about something, what they usually mean is:
“I don’t want to feel what thinking about it brings up.”
Because thinking activates emotion.
Emotion activates sensation.
Sensation feels uncomfortable.
So we try to escape.
We scroll.
We overwork.
We distract.
We stay busy.
High performers are especially talented at this.
But avoidance does not stop thought.
It drives it underground.
And underground thoughts show up at 2:37 a.m.
They show up in your jaw.
They show up in your patience level.
They show up in how short you are with people you love.
Your brain is not the problem.
An unmanaged thought pattern is.

Instead of:
“I don’t want to think about this.”
Try:
“I need to think about this in a way that serves me.”
Same brain.
Different leadership.
Your brain will always generate thoughts. That is its job.

Steady.
Instead of:
“This is too much. I can’t handle it.”
Try:
“This is a lot right now. I will handle it one piece at a time.”
Feel the difference in your nervous system.

Set a timer for five minutes today.
Face it.
Write it.
Reframe it.
