Maria Mojo Mondays: Why is this taking so f&n long?
What’s really happening when what you want still isn’t here
Dear Mindset Maverick,
Let’s just say it.
Why is this taking so f&n long?
You want something.
You’ve decided you want it.
You’ve visualized it.
You’ve worked for it.
You’ve adjusted your mindset.
You’re doing the things.
And yet… it’s still not here.
That is where the frustration kicks in.
Not because you don’t believe it’s possible, but because you’re starting to wonder:
“What am I missing?”
Let me give you a real example from my own life.
My neck fascia has been tight since 2021.
That was a time when I was navigating a lot emotionally. My mom had passed. There was tension and conflict with my dad. A lot was sitting in my body.
And for a while, I found myself thinking:
“How long is this going to take to heal?”
Every time I checked in with it, I was measuring.
Tracking.
Noticing that it was… still there.
Even though it has gotten WAY better.
Even though I’ve learned how to manage it.
Even though most days I actually feel okay.
There was still that subtle energy of:
“It’s not fully gone yet.”
That right there?
That is the trap.
Because the moment you attach yourself to the timeline, you stay in the awareness of not having it.
You keep reinforcing:
“It’s still not here.”
And that energy keeps you in the experience of waiting.
There are a few things that could be happening when something feels like it’s taking forever.
You could be so focused on the timeline that you keep noticing its absence.
You could be in a moment where the timing genuinely is not aligned yet.
You could be so connected to the frustration of not having it that you are reinforcing that reality.
Or you could want it… but deep down not fully believe you get to have it.
None of that means it is not coming.
But it does mean something needs to shift.
For me, the biggest shift has been this:
=> Letting go of the timeline.
Not pretending it doesn’t matter.
Not forcing fake positivity.
But actually making peace with where things are right now.
And trusting that the process is unfolding the way it needs to.
Because the more I have relaxed into that, the more my body has softened.
The more the tightness has released.
Not because I forced it.
But because I stopped holding tension around it needing to be gone.
The same thing applies to what you are waiting for.
The job.
The business.
The clarity.
The next step.
And if you’re an entrepreneur…
this one hits even harder.
Because it’s not just about wanting something.
It’s about building something.
And when you’ve been showing up, putting in the work, and it’s still not where you want it to be…
it’s very easy to fall into:
“Why is this taking so long?”
Just notice…
how often that question keeps your focus on the gap instead of the growth.
If every day you are checking:
“Is it here yet?”
You are reinforcing:
“It’s still not here.”
That does not speed things up.
It slows them down.
It’s like kids in the backseat on a road trip asking:
“Are we there yet?”
Over and over.
It doesn’t make the trip go faster.
It just makes the ride a lot more miserable while you’re still getting there.
So here is the shift I want you to play with this week.
What would it look like to want what you want… without needing to know exactly when it will happen?
What would it feel like to trust that it is unfolding… even if you cannot see it yet?
Because that energy?
That is where things start to move.
Wishing you a week where you release the timeline and trust what is unfolding… even if it is not here yet.
