Maria Mojo Mondays: Life is Too Frickin' Short!
💥 Stop Wasting Your Life on Things That Don’t Light You Up
đź’› Hey, Mindset Maverick!
You know that cliché line — life’s short?
Well, it’s not just a cliché. It’s truth.
Because in the bigger scheme of things, this wild, beautiful ride called life goes by fast.
And way too many people waste it doing things — and being around people — that drain their energy and dim their spark.
So here’s your wake-up call…
Life is too frickin’ short to:
Wake up anxious because you’re already replaying the same disempowering stories.
Let other people dictate what you should or shouldn’t do with your life.
Put up with other people’s crap or their constant negativity.
Pretend to be someone you’re not just to fit in.
Stay in a job that sucks the joy right out of you.
Keep tolerating bullies — in the office, in your circle, or in your head.
Worry about things you can’t control. (Especially right now — the world has enough chaos without you adding to it in your mind.)
Spend all your time working instead of living — dancing, laughing, and playing with the ones you love.
Keep ignoring your health while you care for everyone else.
Take advice from people who’ve stopped believing in themselves.
Silence your song, dim your light, or hold back your joy just to make others comfortable.
💥 Life’s too frickin’ short for that BS. Period.
✨ Coaching Tip #1: Reclaim Your Energy
Ask yourself this question daily:
“Does this add to my joy, or drain it?”
If it drains you — stop making excuses for it.
Change your environment, your people, or your perspective. But don’t stay stuck.
💡 Coaching Tip #2: Protect Your Peace Like It’s Gold
Boundaries aren’t mean. They’re self-love in action.
You teach others how to treat you by how you treat yourself.
Start saying no to anything that doesn’t feel aligned — guilt-free.
⚡ Coaching Tip #3: Give Yourself Permission to LIVE
Play more. Laugh harder. Sing louder.
Don’t wait for the perfect moment — create it.
Because when you dance with life (literally or metaphorically), the Universe dances back.
đź’¬ Real Talk
When my mom passed, it was just Liz and me left with Dad.
Those three years taught us more about life than any book, degree, or coaching certification ever could.
We realized fast that if we didn’t take care of us first, we’d have nothing left to give.
So yes — I told my dad I was “super busy” some days when what I really needed was peace.
I told him we could only talk once a day instead of three times.
Not because I didn’t love him, but because I had to protect my mental and physical wellbeing.
Those years taught me that even in the hardest moments, you always have a choice.
You can drown in the chaos… or you can choose you.
You can create little moments of calm, relief, and ease — even when life feels like it’s falling apart.
And I learned that lesson again years earlier when I was diagnosed with MS.
The doctors painted one version of my future — but I decided to write my own.
To me, it was just a bump in the road.
And my wife? She looked at me with that beautiful, mischievous smile and said,
“If you ever end up in a wheelchair, honey, I’ll pop wheelies with ya.
We’ll put bells and whistles on that thing and make it fun.”
That right there — that’s life.
It’s not about what happens to you.
It’s about how you choose to respond, how you protect your peace, and how you find joy — no matter what.
đź’ˇ Your Challenge
This week, pick one thing that drains your joy and do something about it.
Cut it, delegate it, or reframe it — but stop tolerating it!
Then, pick one thing that lights you up — and do more of that.

You don’t owe anyone your energy, your time, or your peace.
You owe it to yourself to live fully, loudly, and authentically.
Why? Because life is too frickin’ short to settle for anything less.
đź’› So go be the bold, badass, beautifully imperfect YOU the world actually needs.
