Maria Mojo Mondays: Let’s Be Honest About Mental Health

You’re not burned out. Your life just doesn't fit anymore.

Dear Mindset Maverick,

It’s Mental Health Awareness Month.

So let’s say the part most people won’t.

Some of you are not burned out.

👉 You’re living a life that doesn’t feel like you anymore.

And you know it.

You still show up.
You still perform.
You still get the job done.

On paper?

You look solid.

But underneath that…

something feels off.

You’ve outgrown how you’re working.
How you’re showing up.
What you’re tolerating.

And instead of facing that…

you keep pushing through it.

Calling it stress.
Calling it burnout.
Calling it “just a busy season.”

It’s not.

👉 It’s the slow erosion of yourself.

And most people don’t even realize it’s happening.

This is where most conversations about mental health miss the mark.

Because mental health isn’t just about stress levels or taking a day off.

It’s your emotional state.

It’s what you feel every single day when you wake up.

It’s how you experience your life… from the inside.

It’s how you navigate your relationships.

Are you showing up fully as yourself…
or adjusting, shrinking, filtering… just to keep the peace?

Are you speaking your truth…
or managing other people’s reactions?

Because every time you override yourself…

it costs you something.

Energy.
Clarity.
Peace.

And here’s the part people don’t like to hear.

You can have:

• the high-paying job
• the money in the bank
• the relationship that looks good to everyone else
• the body that appears healthy

…and still not be mentally well.

Because if your internal world feels off…

👉 that’s what matters most.

What you think.
What you feel.
What you tolerate.
What you suppress.

That is your mental health.

And chronic stress?

That doesn’t just come from being busy.

It comes from living out of alignment with yourself.

Day after day.

And here’s where this gets real.

Because if it were just burnout…

rest would fix it.

Time off would help.
Self-care would reset it.
A long weekend would make a dent.

But it doesn’t.

Because you’re not tired from doing too much.

👉 You’re drained from being someone you’re no longer aligned with.

And no amount of mindset work fixes that…

if you keep going back to something that no longer fits who you are.

Because your mental health isn’t separate from how you live and work.

👉 It’s shaped by it.

Read that again.

This is the part most people avoid.

Because once you see it…

you can’t unsee it.

And now the question becomes:

“What do I do with this?”

You don’t need to blow up your life.

You don’t need to quit your job tomorrow.

But you do need to get honest with yourself.

Where are you:

• staying quiet when you want to speak
• playing small when you’re meant to lead
• tolerating things that no longer feel aligned
• performing a version of yourself that isn’t fully you

That is where the drain is coming from.

And the longer you override that…

the louder it gets.

Until your body feels it.
Your energy drops.
Your motivation fades.

And now it looks like burnout.

But it started as misalignment.

So let’s shift this.

What would it look like to start listening to that signal…

instead of pushing past it?

What would change if you stopped trying to “manage” your mental health…

and started honoring what it’s telling you?

Because that voice?

That feeling of “this isn’t it anymore”?

That’s not a problem.

👉 That’s guidance.
