šŸŽ† Maria Mojo Mondays: Feed Fear a Suck-It Sandwich

Why fear doesn’t get to decide what you carry into 2026

Hey, Mindset Maverick,

As this year winds down and we stand on the edge of a brand-new one, I want to talk about something that gets especially loud right now.

Fear.

Not the healthy kind that keeps you safe.

I’m talking about the kind of fear that creeps in quietly at the end of the year.
The kind that reviews everything you didn’t do.
The kind that starts whispering ā€œwhat ifā€ stories about what might happen next.

What if next year looks the same?
What if I don’t make enough money?
What if I’m still stuck?
What if I fail?
What if I make the wrong move?

Fear has a way of showing up right when you’re trying to look forward.

And here’s the problem.

Fear doesn’t just live in your thoughts.
It lives in your body.
Your nervous system.
Your energy.

And when fear runs unchecked, it doesn’t just influence how you feel.
It starts shaping what you create.

šŸ’” Coaching Truth: Fear Is a Story, Not a Prediction

Fear has an acronym for a reason:

F.E.A.R. = False Evidence Appearing Real

Read that slowly.

Fear is rarely based on what is actually happening.
It is usually based on what might happen.
Or what happened once before.
Or what your mind is trying to protect you from feeling again.

Most of the things we fear have not happened yet.
And many of them never will.

But when you believe fear, your body responds as if it is already true.

That is how fear becomes powerful.

⚔ Why Fear Gets Louder as We Grow Bolder

Here’s something I’ve noticed, both personally and with my clients.

As we grow bolder.
As we become more intentional.
As we start choosing ourselves more consciously.

We also become more aware of time.

Especially when people we know pass away.
When we experience loss.
When mortality suddenly feels closer, not abstract.

And in those moments, fear can creep in quietly.

Fear of running out of time.
Fear of getting older.
Fear of missing something.
Fear of not doing enough fast enough.
Fear of what lies ahead.

This is important to understand.

That fear does not mean something is wrong with you.
It means you are awake.

But here is where fear gets dangerous.

When you start extrapolating into the future, you leave the present moment.
And when you leave the present moment, you leave your power.

Life only happens now.
Peace only exists now.
Joy only lives now.

When fear pulls you into the future, your ā€œnowā€ whooshes by.
And suddenly, you are not living your life.
You are worrying about time slipping by while missing the moment you are actually in.

That is fear stealing your presence.

And that is not how you want to live.

šŸ˜„ The Humor Break (Because We Need One)

This is where my favorite little BADASS button comes in.
(Yes, I literally have a badass button I can press and it says a few fun affirmations.)

One affirmation in particular says:

ā€œFeed fear a suck-it sandwich.ā€

Yes, it’s funny.
And yes, it’s intentionally irreverent.

Because sometimes fear doesn’t need to be analyzed.
It needs to be demoted.

You don’t have to eliminate fear to move forward.
You just have to stop letting it sit in the driver’s seat.

Fear can ride along.
It does not get to steer.
And it definitely does not get to decide what 2026 looks like.

šŸ’› Coaching Insight: Fear Creates Reality When You Let It Lead

Your mind does not know the difference between a real threat and an imagined one.

That’s why fear feels convincing.

But fear is not intuition.
Fear is not truth.
Fear is not wisdom.

Fear is simply a story being told with a lot of emotional intensity.

And here’s the good news.

Stories can be rewritten.
Energy can be shifted.
Momentum can be restored.

But only if you interrupt the pattern.

šŸ’¬ Real Talk

If you carry fear into a new year, you will recreate familiar results.
Not because you are broken.
But because energy always follows belief.

This is not about setting resolutions.
It is not about forcing goals.
It is not about pretending you feel confident when you don’t.

This is about deciding who gets to set the tone for your next chapter.

Fear?
Or intention?

Old stories?
Or new energy?

šŸ’› Your Mojo Reset Question

Before this year closes, ask yourself:

What fear-based story am I ready to stop carrying forward?

Name it.
Acknowledge it.
Then choose differently.

That choice alone shifts energy.

⚔ Maria Mojo Boost

Fear is loud.
But it is not smart.

Fear is dramatic.
But it is not accurate.

Fear is common.
But it is not in charge.

You are.

So as you step into 2026, let fear know one thing very clearly:

It does not get to write the next chapter!
